In the University of Iringa, things are
going in a helter-skelter scale. Where no one knows its current location of its
development in the university’s surrounding.
In many cases, students’ of the
university are wondering whether they are here to learn and wait for the system
of the university to accept the Tanzanian constitution about the working hours.
When paying for fees in the account’s
office, the university students have to stand for many hours to get their
services. Some of the students’ sacrifice their lectures to have their fees
paid.
On the other hand, the offices only work
for four hours (10:30 a.m-1:30 p.m.) while the office attendants arrive as
early as 7:30 a.m. most of these attendants will travel from office to office
for two hours.
As saddening as the fact are seen, it
seems like university’s system allows their employees’ major leisure time after
they leave their homes to their offices. Another thing that makes University
students’ wonder a lot about their money is the fees fines that the school has
issued. The fine is a one step wonder of fraud and out of heaven greed.
Reasons offered by the students’ are
more than mere expression of their freedom lest they face suspension from the
university’s ruling system, where no bi-laws are offered to the students. Hence
expressing their rights as a normal citizen of University of Iringa is hard
than the system thinks.
Before pointing fingers at the students
reaction on the harsh conditions the university is using. The concerned people
who were chosen by the university because they have experience in their work
and they are trustworthy, it seems to be more insane when you see an employee
acting like a king or queen to get their targeted goals.
In the university the working conditions
of the genitors’ are life threatening and they need tools or equipments which
will help them combat the dreaded condition of the university’s environment.
The university has many computers which
are not internet connected from the reception to the university’s newsroom. This
makes it impossible to get information from the university’s computers.
Also most of these computers in the
Newsroom are missing printers for printing their news, the newsroom manager has
been saying the management has a lot to handle yet nothing seems to have
evolved to fresh words from the university’s Newsroom manager.
The questions that still hang loose
among the journalists of the university are, when are our computers in the room
having anti-virus? Till date the computers are neglected by the management.
Showing lack of maintenance of their equipments at will.
Are the news produced by the respective
journalists read by the school committee? Many of the news that journalists of
the University of Iringa in the university’s paper called “Tumaini Weekly” are
ignored or they seem to be un heard of.
My vivid conclusion to the university is
to keep the university system flowing easily and with no glitches’. The
university has to be reliable for its own responsibilities without having to be
pushed or reminded about its duty for her students.
